Quartette blends four of the classical Bordeaux varietals to craft a wine that will be an appetising mix of earthiness and savoury tannic and acid structure, intertwined with an underlay of opulent, rich red fruit: a wine that must be sumptuous enough to enjoy at an early stage but which will stay the course for many years.

(50% Merlot + 20% Petit Verdot + 20% Cabernet Sauvignon + 10% Malbec.)

Tasting note

Opaque with aromas reminiscent of red fruits conveying impressions of mulberry, dark plum, and pencil shavings, supplemented by wafts of sweet red cherry and cassis, all encapsulated by subtle oak impressions. Rich, elegant and sleek on the palate with a silky texture and great freshness and polish, accentuated by flavour concentration and svelte tannins, ending with sweetness cohesion. A generous wine, underscored with good flavour density and compelling fruit purity, seaming into a highly nuanced many-faceted finish.  Will age well.

The component cultivars to the blend were wood matured individually after which the final blend was crafted. Wood maturation took place in a combination of new, second- and third-fill 300 litre French oak barrels for a period of  just over 15 months. For immediate appreciation and bottle maturation; will peak in and around 5-8 years if kept under optimum storage conditions.
