Tasting note

Brilliant hue with an arresting nose, waxy and rich, with a lemon rind character enhanced by some nuttiness and a softening sheen of mellow oak. Bright fruit on the palate with a great core of concentrated creaminess adding succulence and vitality, underscored by some subtle lemony acidity. A wine with great intensity and concentration, lanolin smoothness and a refined, long finish.

Recommended food

Enjoy with all cocktail bites, seafood, poultry, light beef roasts, pasta, terrine and cheese dishes.

Serving temperature

Serve cool rather than chilled, allow for breathing, preferably decant.

The sémillon has been matured in French oak for 18 months with 80% of the wine also fermented in barrels. Keeping the Crafter’s Choice Sémillon at optimum storage conditions (below 20º C) the wine’s tertiary flavours will fully emerge with further bottle ageing to eventually morph into a labyrinthian wine.
